The mission of FEMSA-ITLS is to improve trauma care across Florida by advancing high-quality, ITLS-aligned education for First Responders and healthcare professionals. "We are guided by the mission and enduring legacy of our founder, Dr. John Campbell, whose vision continues to shape trauma education worldwide. "

Building on this strong foundation, three members of ITLS of Florida—who were also active FEMSA members—recognized the need for a dedicated International ITLS chapter to further support trauma education and operational excellence among First Responders. Building on this strong foundation, three members of ITLS of Florida—who were also active FEMSA members—recognized the need for a dedicated International ITLS chapter to further support trauma education and operational excellence among First Responders. Their shared vision led to the formation of FEMSAITLS, a chapter created to strengthen collaboration, education, and advocacy at both the state and international levels.
In 2018, that vision became reality when FEMSAITLS was officially granted its charter, marking a significant milestone in the continued evolution of professional development and leadership within Florida’s First Responder community.

We provide ITLS-aligned trauma education programs for civilian and military learners, designed to meet nationally recognized standards for prehospital trauma assessment, clinical decision-making, and evidence-based patient care. Our programs serve fire and rescue services, EMS agencies, tactical teams, military personnel, and nursing professionals, with instruction tailored to adult and pediatric trauma populations.
All courses are developed and delivered in accordance with Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) expectations, emphasizing measurable learning objectives, instructor-led education, skills competency verification, and outcome-based evaluation.
Our goal is to empower educational institutions, county and municipal EMS agencies, and all branches of the U.S. military to achieve self-sufficiency by establishing the internal capacity to administer, document, and sustain compliant in-house ITLS programs that support continuing education, quality improvement, and ongoing operational readiness.

“The status quo is untenable in so many ways.”
ACEP is rising to meet the challenges that threaten your livelihood and your patients’ lives. Together, we ushered in a new era of fierce advocacy and emergency physician leadership.
Founded in 1968 by a small group of physicians who shared a commitment to improving the quality of emergency care, ACEP set out to educate and train physicians in emergency medicine to provide quality emergency care in the nation’s hospitals.
In 1979 emergency medicine was recognized as the 23rd medical specialty, a major milestone for ACEP and its members. The American Board of Emergency Medicine, the independent certifying body for the specialty, was also established and the first certification exam was given in 1980.
ACEP passed another historic milestone when criteria-based membership requirements were implemented. Starting January 1, 2000, board certification or residency training in emergency medicine became a prerequisite for active or full-voting membership.
Today, ACEP represents more than 38,000 emergency physicians, emergency medicine residents and medical students. ACEP promotes the highest quality of emergency care and is the leading advocate for emergency physicians and their patients, and the public. The College continually strives to improve the quality of emergency medical services through:
